Gender stereotypes are formed at an early age in the family and at school. In the United States between , when the first U.S. public school was opened in Boston, and , when the Oberlin College admitted its first four female students, men seemed to have gained a certain advantage over their female counterparts. Gender equality is a moral and a business imperative. But unconscious bias holds us back and de-biasing minds has proven to be difficult and expensive. Behavioral design offers a new solution. Iris Bohnet shows that by de-biasing organizations instead of individuals, we can make smart changes that have big impacts -- often at low cost and high speed.

Why you need gender diversity in the workplace 1. It can improve financial performance. Making your workforce more balanced between genders isn’t just a nice-to-have – rather, it’s a real driver of superior performance that all business leaders desire. This book is for everyone who wants to understand the other gender and enjoy working with them, whether you are writing an annual report, or raising a family. Most of the case scenarios found in the book come from the working world, but the lessons of this book go beyond the workplace, for we all relate to both genders in one way or another.

Gender diversity deals with equal representation of men and women in the workplace. In this lesson, we will explore trends and issues with gender diversity in the modern workforce. The book shows how the state, in addition to and interactively with the workplace and household, can maintain gender inequality. In so doing, Pyle demonstrates the usefulness of a revitalized and broader structural approach to feminist analysis.
